Marcel Marceau
September 25, 2007
This caricature is of the famous mime artist Marcel Marceau who passed away in Paris recently. I was fortunate enough to meet him when he gave his last performance in Ireland in the Olympia Theatre, Dublin. I was requested by the Irish Times to do a caricature of the great mime artist. When Marcel saw it he phoned asking could he purchase it. The Irish Times gave him my number, I gladly offered him the caricature for free. He invited me to the show and after an excellent performance I met him and gave him the picture.
For a man who was silent for over two hours on stage he was a great conversationalist and spoke about himself in the third person. The world is impoverished losing such a great talent but his legacy lives on.

Here are a couple of videos made by my son Richie. A recent trip to California and Canada resulted in amazing wildlife encounters. He was lucky enough to see the very rare Californian Condor.

And this is a photographic montage from the Big Sur in California, Vancouver Island and the Rockies.
I will be adding my own videos soon enough so watch this space!
